Consider the following scenario, you're tasked to write an essay over a period of time. You think over its central theme and you begin to research and gather relevant materials to support the theme. Options for raw data gathering process: Using a word processor:
For the above option A, information is available in linear format, which isn't a good idea when sometimes you need to be able to access almost all of them simultaneously. And for the above option B, to access each document you would have to flip around and when you flip to document B you would probably already forget about the content in docuemnt A... so, still not congnitively helpful. One work-around is, to open up two small windows with one containing the "central theme" doc and then another research X doc. However, this approach is limited by its inability of bringing all the key ideas pertaining to the "central theme" on just One Page / Screen. And why is this ability of viewing all the key ideas on one screen important? Because being holistic is Critically Important when we examine a core issue. You ask, why don't I see a screen similar to the following upon launching Knowledge NoteBook?
Simply go to Settings and uncheck the Yes checkbox for the "Use Hub View" entry and Save.
